Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Remedy aims to be "Europe's Naughty Dog," according to Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley.
In a Behind The Voice podcast interview, Rowley detailed how this aspiration shaped Quantum Break and, subsequently, Alan Wake 2. He explicitly stated their goal: "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog."
This influence is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, lauded for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success cemented Remedy's status as a top European studio.
Remedy's vision extends beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter a record-breaking award winner), serves as a benchmark.
Over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates, enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include significant optimizations for the PS5 Pro, introducing a "Balanced" graphics mode that combines the best aspects of the Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also refine graphical settings for smoother frame rates and clearer visuals, alongside addressing minor bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
