Elden Ring Mod Unveils Surprising Removal

Elden Ring: Nightreign will eliminate the in-game messaging feature previously seen in other FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter play sessions. Nightreign's approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions leave insufficient time for players to leave or read messages.

"Given sessions are roughly forty minutes long, there's not enough time to send or read messages, so we removed the feature," Ishizaki stated.

This choice is noteworthy given the importance of player messaging in past FromSoftware games, which enhanced player interaction and enjoyment. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.

Nightreign is a standalone experience, separate from the Elden Ring storyline, to preserve the original game's integrity. It promises a fresh adventure with unique challenges and encounters, while retaining the signature atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
