Thomas Waterzooi Launches Innovative Art Game: Experience Mobile Artwork Now

By EmmaJun 18,2025

Thomas Waterzooi, the creative mind behind thought-provoking and art-driven puzzle experiences, is back with a fresh twist on interactive observation. His latest project, *Please, Watch The Artwork*, breaks the mold by asking players not to interact—but simply to observe. This unique mobile title was officially revealed during the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025 and promises an experience unlike any other.

The *Please, Touch The Artwork* series began in 2022 with its first installment, followed by a sequel released in early 2024. Both titles challenged traditional gameplay mechanics by blending surreal visuals with tactile puzzles. Now, *Please, Watch The Artwork* continues this artistic journey, shifting focus from interaction to passive attention—offering a more introspective and psychologically immersive experience.

It’s important to note that this new entry serves as a side story rather than a direct replacement for the upcoming *Please, Touch The Artwork 3*. Thomas Waterzooi has confirmed that the third mainline game remains in active development. For now, fans can enjoy the reveal trailer below:

A Quietly Disturbing Museum Experience

At its core, *Please, Watch The Artwork* reimagines the classic "spot-the-difference" mechanic within a deeply atmospheric setting. You assume the role of a nightwatch at MaMA—the Museum of Animated Modern Art. Your task is simple yet unsettling: monitor surveillance feeds of seemingly static paintings that subtly shift and evolve when you're not looking.

Your mission involves identifying visual discrepancies and reporting them before the growing sense of dread overwhelms you. Drawing inspiration from the works of Edward Hopper, the game transforms over 40 iconic paintings into eerie, animated scenes spread across six distinct gallery themes.

Expect to see familiar yet distorted imagery such as empty diners, lonely bedrooms, and shadowy urban streetscapes. These environments loop continuously, subtly changing over time. Without background music or distractions, every ambient sound becomes part of the puzzle—because even audio anomalies matter.

Platform Availability & Release Date

*Please, Watch The Artwork* will be available on Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. While an exact release date hasn't been announced, a fall launch window has been teased—with October being the most likely timeframe for the mobile version.

Adding to the game's unusual tone, the announcement was narrated using ASMR techniques, giving it a uniquely immersive and slightly haunting presentation. To learn more about the game or stay updated on future releases, visit the official website.

If you're a fan of psychological puzzle games and atmospheric storytelling, *Please, Watch The Artwork* is definitely one to keep your eye on—literally.
