Death Stranding 2 introduces an innovative feature allowing players to bypass boss fights, opting instead for visual novel-style narrative snippets. This article delves into this unique gameplay mechanic and provides the latest updates on the game's development.
Death Stranding 2 Development Updates
New Feature Allows Players To Clear Bosses Without Combat
In Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2), players will have the option to progress past boss encounters without engaging in combat. This was revealed by DS2 Director Hideo Kojima during the latest Koji Pro radio broadcast on April 14. Kojima highlighted that this feature is designed to assist players who may struggle with boss battles.
By selecting "continue" on the game over screen, players can skip the combat and receive images and text descriptions of the battle, akin to a visual novel. This innovative approach ensures that players can still experience the story's critical moments without the need for combat skills.
Death Stranding 2 Around 95% Complete
Hideo Kojima has announced that DS2 is currently 95% complete, describing its progress as being at "10 o’clock (PM)" in a 24-hour cycle, with just two hours remaining until completion.
DS2 is set to continue directly from where the original game left off. At last month's South by South West (SXSW) event, Kojima Productions and Sony provided insights into the game, including a 10-minute trailer that highlighted DS2's narrative and introduced new characters, sparking excitement among fans.
The trailer also showcased a character resembling Solid Snake, alongside other new story elements and gameplay features. Additionally, details about DS2's collector's edition and pre-order bonuses were shared. For more information on pre-orders and additional content, check out our dedicated article below!
