Will Wright, the mastermind behind The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream. This innovative game, initially announced in 2018, is finally taking shape, promising a deeply personal and interactive experience.
A Game Forged From Memories
Developed by Gallium Studio, Proxi allows players to input their real-life memories as text. The game then transforms these memories into animated scenes, which can be customized using in-game assets for greater accuracy and personalization. Each memory, or "mem," added to the game trains the AI, expanding the player's "mind world"—a 3D environment where these memories come to life.
This mind world evolves, populating with Proxies representing friends and family as more memories are added. Players can arrange memories chronologically and link them to specific Proxies, creating a dynamic and interconnected representation of their life experiences. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds, such as Minecraft and Roblox!
Wright emphasized Proxi's focus on creating "magical connections" with memories. He explained his desire to build a more personalized experience, stating, "I found myself getting continuously closer and closer to the player...the more I can make a game about you, the more you'll like it."
Proxi is now featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements expected soon.
