Black Ops 6 has announced the exciting addition of two beloved classics, Infection and Nuketown, just days after its launch. This news comes alongside details of a recent update that addressed several player-reported issues.
Black Ops 6 Announces New Mode, Map, and Regular Post-Launch Updates
Infection and Nuketown Roll Out This Week
"Launch was only the beginning. Tomorrow, the Infected are coming to play. Nuketown joins the party on Friday. LFG," Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch announced on Twitter (X), confirming the addition of the fan-favorite multiplayer mode and iconic map to Black Ops 6 this week. The game, which launched last week, will introduce the CoD staple "Infected" party mode on Thursday. In Infected, players must fend off and survive against player-controlled zombies.
Following closely is Nuketown, another fan-favorite Black Ops mainstay, set to arrive on November 1. Debuting in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), Nuketown is a multiplayer map inspired by 1950s US nuclear test sites. Prior to Black Ops 6's release, Activision promised that players can expect more modes to be regularly added post-launch. Black Ops 6, released last week on October 25, initially came with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including four alternate modes where Scorestreaks are disabled, as well as a Hardcore mode where players operate with less health.
Black Ops 6 Update Fixes Several Post-Launch Issues, More Patches Expected Soon
Moreover, Black Ops 6 released its first update over the weekend, addressing issues in both multiplayer modes and Zombies that surfaced following the game's release. XP and weapon XP rates have been increased in Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight. "Our team is closely monitoring XP rates for all modes to ensure players are progressing as expected wherever they play," Activision stated. Below is a list of some of the resolved issues:
⚫︎ Global:
・Loadouts: The last-selected loadout will now be properly highlighted when opening the Loadouts menu in-game.
・Operators: Fixed an issue with Bailey’s animation in the Operators menu.
・Settings: The ‘Mute Licensed Music’ setting now functions correctly.
⚫︎ Maps:
・Babylon: Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside of the intended playspace on Babylon.
・Lowtown: Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside of the intended playspace on Lowtown.
・Red Card: Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside of the intended playspace on Red Card. Improved stability on Red Card.
・General: Addressed an issue with stability when using in-game interactions.
⚫︎ Multiplayer:
・Matchmaking: Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented matches from quickly finding a replacement player if another player quit the match.
・Private Matches: Private Match will no longer forfeit if one team has zero players.
・Scorestreaks: Addressed an issue where the incoming missile sound from the Dreadnought would continuously play.
Meanwhile, unresolved issues, such as dying upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy, are expected to be fixed soon, according to developers Treyarch and Raven Software. Despite these post-launch issues, we believe that Black Ops 6 is one of the best Call of Duty games in recent years, boasting a fun and memorable Campaign.
