Ubisoft has discreetly rolled out Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E, as highlighted by Eurogamer on December 20. This engaging top-down multiplayer arcade shooter demands the use of cryptocurrency for gameplay.

As detailed on Eden Online’s website, this title expands the universe of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, a series that debuted on Netflix. Both the game and the series integrate popular Ubisoft franchises, including Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed.

While it retains the essence of online competitive multiplayer, access to the game is limited to just 10,000 players. To participate, players must obtain a Citizen ID Card, which meticulously tracks everything from seasonal rankings to unique achievements and accolades. These cards are dynamic, evolving with players' in-game achievements.

To acquire a card, players need a crypto wallet and must purchase an NFT Niji Warrior ID card from Ubisoft’s dedicated claim page for $25.63. Cardholders have the option to renounce their citizenship and sell their IDs, potentially increasing in value based on their in-game success.

According to Ubisoft's listing on Magic Eden, an online hub for NFTs and digital collectibles, the game's full launch is slated for Q1 2025. Early adopters who secure their IDs will enjoy early access to the game.

A Netflix Series Inspired By Far Cry 3’s DLC

The Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, is an animated extension of Far Cry 3’s Blood Dragon expansion. Set in an alternate 1992, the series unfolds in Eden, a technocratic society under the control of a single megacorporation.

The narrative follows Dolph Laserhawk, a supersoldier engineered by Eden Tech Military. After defecting, he embarked on heists with his boyfriend, Alex Taylor, who eventually betrayed him. Recaptured by Eden, Laserhawk was coerced into joining The Ghosts and tasked with thwarting Taylor's schemes.

Although Ubisoft has not disclosed specifics about the game’s storyline, it shares the same universe where players assume the role of citizens under Eden's regime. Players can actively shape the game's narrative by boosting their citizen scores through mission completions, leaderboard updates, and community engagement.
