People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

By VioletMay 04,2025

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into an exciting new agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This collaboration is set to bring forth a new game, currently codenamed Project Delta. According to a recent report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is designated as a work-for-hire project, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

The studio is currently juggling an impressive portfolio of projects, each with its own unique codename. Alongside Project Delta, they are working on Project Gemini in partnership with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being developed with Krafton, while Project Red appears to be another collaboration with Sony. Additionally, People Can Fly recently announced that Project Bison, their venture into VR, will be their final project in that space.

The studio faced some challenges recently, having to suspend work on Project Victoria last December and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they also had to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in development with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
