NetEase is preparing to launch an experimental feature aimed at boosting Marvel Rivals' stability while cutting down on memory usage. A Twitter (X) announcement on April 30 revealed the upcoming Switch Shader Compilation Mode, designed to improve gameplay—especially for users with limited RAM or persistent FPS concerns.

Marvel Rivals also published a detailed blog explaining what the new feature brings. According to the post, the developers recognize player feedback regarding performance stuttering and crashes resulting from high memory consumption during play.

The blog stated, "To address memory overload, we are introducing an experimental feature in Season 2: the Switch Shader Compilation Mode. When Season 2 goes live, players can activate this option via the PC launcher." This setting is particularly recommended for systems with 16GB of RAM or less.

Once enabled, the game will benefit in the following areas:

 ● Shader compilation will only occur when first launching the game after a new version or graphics driver update.
 ● Game memory usage will be substantially reduced, minimizing severe FPS drops, screen freezes, and crashes due to insufficient memory.

That said, developers have listed a few known issues when using this mode. For instance, at the start of a match, certain textures might appear incorrectly for several frames before normalizing. Occasional stuttering may also occur initially but typically resolves quickly once the match is underway.
