Lost Soul Aside's launch has been postponed by three months, shifting from May 30 to August 29, 2025, according to its developer.

Nearing a decade in development, the single-player action title for PC and PlayStation 5 was set to debut next month, but Ultizero Games announced the delay to late August to refine the experience.

"We deeply appreciate the enthusiasm from players worldwide since we unveiled Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated.

"Our commitment is to deliver an exceptional gaming experience. To meet Ultizero Games’ high standards, we’ll take extra time to enhance the game. Lost Soul Aside is now slated for release on August 29, 2025. We sincerely thank our fans for their patience and support."

Initially a solo endeavor by developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved into a prominent Sony-published title under the China Hero Project, with Bing now leading Shanghai-based Ultizero Games as founder and CEO.

IGN recently spoke with Yang Bing about the game’s extensive development journey. From a solo creator’s vision to a spotlight at Sony’s State of Play, Lost Soul Aside has generated significant excitement, often praised as a dynamic blend of Final Fantasy-inspired characters and Devil May Cry-style combat since its viral debut trailer in 2016.

The protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that alters gameplay styles, accompanied by a dragon-like ally named Arena, who summons abilities to aid Kesar in battle.

Drawing from its influences, Lost Soul Aside focuses on aerial evasion, precise timing, intricate combos, and counterattacks, paired with epic boss battles. The game weaves a sci-fi narrative with diverse modern aesthetics, guiding players through multiple dimensions. While the story remains elusive in trailers, Bing describes Kesar’s arc as a quest for "redemption and self-discovery."
