The Hermit quest automatically unlocks upon completing quests for blacksmith Radovan. After retrieving the lost cart, report back to Radovan; he'll reveal his plan to forge a wedding gift, initiating the Hermit questline. Before confronting the hermit, however, you must gather information from Troskowitz villagers.

Gathering Information About the Hermit

Begin at the Troskowitz tavern, speaking with Innkeeper Betty to exhaust all dialogue options. Then, talk to other villagers (the alehouse maid and general trader are good starting points) to gather additional information.

Talking to Gerda and Stanislav

Next, speak with Gerda in Troskowitz; she witnessed a relevant apparition. Offer Groschen or attempt a dialogue check to obtain information. Afterwards, find Stanislav in Apollonia and repeat the process—either pay or pass a dialogue check.

Gathering Evidence

With information gathered, it's time to find physical evidence. Locate the cross Gerda mentioned, dig up the grave (you'll need a spade; purchase one from the Troskowitz trader or find one in a cemetery), and examine the unearthed Groschen, documents, and artifacts related to the Knights of the Cross.

Talking to the Hermit
