Wingspan Will Release Its Asia Expansion This Year with New Cards and Modes

Wingspan's Asia Expansion: A Flight of New Birds and Game Modes

The popular strategy video game, Wingspan, is preparing for a significant expansion, focusing on the diverse avian life and landscapes of Asia. While a precise release date remains undisclosed, the Asia Expansion promises a wealth of new content.

A Closer Look at the Asia Expansion:

This expansion introduces a captivating array of new birds from India, China, and Japan, each boasting unique abilities and intriguing facts. Adding to the strategic depth, 13 new bonus cards are included, with two specifically designed for the Automa mode, enhancing the solo gameplay experience.

Four breathtaking new background images showcase the stunning Asian scenery, complemented by eight player portraits reflecting local cultural influences. A significant addition is the Duet Mode, a competitive one-on-one experience played on a dedicated Duet Map, introducing new end-of-round objectives and intense head-to-head competition.

The expansion also features an enhanced soundscape, with four new relaxing music tracks composed by Paweł Górniak, adding an immersive atmosphere to your bird-watching and strategic gameplay.

Based on Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed board game, the digital Wingspan (released in 2020 for PC and 2021 for mobile) challenges players to cultivate a thriving wildlife preserve by strategically attracting birds with unique abilities. Gameplay involves careful resource management, balancing food acquisition, egg-laying, and card draws. The birds' actions mirror their real-world counterparts, creating a realistic and engaging experience.

While awaiting the Asia Expansion, players can explore the European and Oceania expansions available on the Google Play Store.
