It appears Netflix's video game division is facing challenges once again. The streaming giant is set to pull a significant number of mobile titles from its library next month, removing nearly 20% of its gaming catalog in a single sweep.
When Is Netflix Removing the Games?
Mark your calendars for July 15th, 2025, as that's when over 20 games will vanish from the platform. Netflix subscribers have until July 14th for their final play sessions with these titles before they're gone.
The list of departing games is extensive and diverse, and surprisingly, some titles are still quite new to Netflix. A prime example is Carmen Sandiego, which only joined the service in January 2025.
The impact extends to major franchises like Monument Valley. Netflix is pulling all three games in the celebrated series, including Monument Valley 3, which enjoyed a temporary period of exclusivity on Netflix Games before being announced for wider release.
Highly acclaimed games like Death's Door and Katana Zero are also on the chopping block. Beloved indie darlings are not spared either, with titles such as Braid Anniversary Edition, The Case of the Golden Idol, and The Rise of the Golden Idol set for removal.
The cuts span all audiences, affecting children's games like CoComelon: Play with JJ and LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, as well as licensed IP titles such as Battleship, Rainbow Six: SMOL, and SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
Another notable loss is Supergiant Games' award-winning Hades, which is currently available on iOS exclusively through Netflix. Rounding out the list are Dumb Ways to Die, Ghost Detective, Ludo King, Diner Out: Merge Cafe, Vineyard Valley, TED Tumblewords, and Raji: An Ancient Epic.
A Pattern of Reductions
This latest purge caps off a difficult year for Netflix Games. Over the past nine months, the service has experienced several cancellations, including high-profile projects like Don't Starve Together, Crashlands 2, and Tales of the Shire.
Netflix recently terminated "Netflix Stories" as well, shelving plans to expand the interactive narrative service with stories based on its original shows and movies. These recent removals follow a similar wave of game cuts in December of last year. This ongoing trend began with the closure of Netflix's internal AAA game development studio in October.
Given this steady decline, one has to wonder if the company might eventually shutter its gaming division entirely. Only future developments will reveal its ultimate strategy. For now, you can browse Netflix's current game offerings on the Google Play Store.
