Akatsuki Games has revealed that their latest title, Tribe Nine, will terminate its service. Launched globally in February on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the game’s abrupt end has caught many by surprise. Curious about the reasons behind this closure? Read on for details.
When Will Tribe Nine Shut Down?
Tribe Nine’s service will officially end on November 27, 2025. Akatsuki Games also confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main storyline will not be released, despite earlier teasers hinting at upcoming content. This news has left fans disappointed.
As of May 15, all planned updates, new features, bug fixes, and content releases have been halted. Previously announced adjustments and additions are now canceled.
Two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will no longer join the game’s roster.
Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will begin after the Revenio contract concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes have been discontinued across the app and web store. However, players can still use their existing Enigma Entities until the game’s closure.
What Led to Its Early Demise?
Tribe Nine, a free-to-play extreme action RPG, boasted a distinctive style and immersive worldbuilding. Despite its appeal, the game faced challenges from the outset.
A sluggish release schedule delivered only one story chapter and one event in three months. Additionally, the game’s design allowed players to form strong teams with minimal spending, reducing the need for duplicate pulls. While this benefited players, it likely impacted the developers’ revenue.
The decision to adopt a gacha model proved risky for Tribe Nine, ultimately leading to its downfall. The game remains playable until November 27, so new players can still experience it on the Google Play Store.
