Monster Hunter Wilds: Top Gathering Armor Set

When your main goal is collecting materials in Monster Hunter Wilds, assembling the right combination of armor pieces is key to maximizing your efficiency. Here is the recommended gathering set:

Sild Hood Conga Mail or Melahoa Jacket G. Rathalos Vambraces or Leather Gloves High Metal Coil or Suja Sash Azuz Pants Marathon Charm or Intimidator Charm

The Sild Hood is a cornerstone for any gathering build, as it provides the crucial Botanist skill. For convenience, I prefer using Intimidator to avoid distractions from small monsters, which is where the Conga Mail and Guardian Rathalos Vambraces excel. However, you can substitute the Leather pieces if you prioritize different bonuses.

The Azuz Pants are also essential, granting Geologist 3 to significantly boost your gathering yield.

Finally, choose between the Marathon or Intimidator Charm based on your armor configuration. If your armor lacks Intimidator, equip the charm, and do the opposite if it's already covered.

Key Gathering Skills

Beyond the right armor, activating the correct skills is vital. Below are the most important skills to equip for material gathering in Monster Hunter Wilds:

SkillEffect
BotanistIncreases the yield of herbs and other consumables gathered.
GeologistAllows you to collect more items from each gathering point.
IntimidatorLowers the chance of small monsters attacking you upon detection. Ineffective against some monsters.
Aquatic/Oilslit MobilityReduces movement penalties in water, oilslit, or streams.
EntomologistPrevents small insect monster corpses from disappearing, making them available for carving.
OutdoorsmanEnhances abilities related to fishing, cooking meat, and transporting items.

In my opinion, Botanist and Geologist are the two skills you must have on your gathering set. Even if you can't acquire all the ideal armor pieces immediately, prioritize these two skills above others. You can gradually incorporate the remaining skills over time.

That covers our recommended gathering armor set for Monster Hunter Wilds. For more game tips and guides, such as how to obtain Commission Tickets or Frenzy Shards and Crystals, be sure to explore The Escapist.
