How to Enable or Disable Subtitles in Avowed
During Avowed's opening sequence, you'll encounter subtitle preference options. If you accidentally make the wrong selection, don't worry – the game provides two separate menus where you can adjust these settings later.
Navigate to "Settings" and select either the "UI" or "Accessibility" tabs. Here you'll find controls for "Conversation Subtitles" and "Background Dialogue Subtitles." The Accessibility tab offers the most straightforward interface for these adjustments, though both locations work identically.

While many players (myself included) rely on subtitles for comprehension, others find them visually distracting during gameplay. Ultimately, subtitle usage comes down to personal preference – enable them if they help your experience or disable them if they disrupt immersion.
