Pirate Software Removed from OnlyFangs WoW Guild

Summary

  • Pirate Software was expelled from the OnlyFangs guild after causing Hardcore deaths during a botched Dire Maul North run.
  • Pirate Software's refusal to accept responsibility for the deaths led to his removal by Guild Master Sodapoppin.

Pirate Software has been removed from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, following a disastrous run in Dire Maul North. This dungeon, recently introduced to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has already claimed the lives of some OnlyFangs members in Hardcore mode.

Before the official launch of Hardcore servers in August 2023, the World of Warcraft community had already established its own rules for zero-death challenges. The popularity of these servers waned until the introduction of Anniversary servers in November 2024, which revitalized World of Warcraft Classic and led to a significant drop in the population of the original Classic servers. Since then, numerous Hardcore players have perished, while a select few have reached level 60 under these stringent conditions. The recent Hardcore deaths of Sara and Snupy in OnlyFangs have prompted Guild Master Sodapoppin to take decisive action against the player responsible.

Sodapoppin's Discord statement, corroborated by several social media posts, confirmed Pirate Software's removal from OnlyFangs. The statement revealed that a majority of guild members felt uneasy playing alongside Pirate Software after two members died during a Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group, after pulling aggro on a boss prematurely, attempted to escape the dungeon to reset the Gordok ogres. Pirate Software abandoned the group during their escape, a decision that led to the deaths of Sara and Snupy. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under standard rules, Pirate Software refused to acknowledge his role in the incident, further escalating tensions.

This is Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From the World of Warcraft Guild OnlyFangs

The primary criticism leveled against Pirate Software is his unwillingness to take responsibility for the two Hardcore deaths, particularly for not effectively using crowd control abilities. During a post-run analysis, Twitch streamer Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have employed Blizzard rank 1 to slow down the enemies without exhausting his mana reserves. Other OnlyFangs members, such as Mizkif, have suggested that Pirate Software's threats towards fellow streamers following the incident also contributed to his expulsion. In response to his removal, Pirate Software took to Twitter, expressing his belief that the situation was mishandled.

Since the guild's recreation on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, several members have been expelled, and some may form their own groups. As Blizzard continues to update World of Warcraft Classic with patches faithful to the original Vanilla experience, the addition of new dungeons and raids may lead to further Hardcore deaths within OnlyFangs.
