Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme

Get ready for an exciting celebration as Pikmin Bloom marks its 3.5th anniversary next month! Niantic is bringing back some nostalgic gadgets to the game, and the festivities will kick off with a special event starting on May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with a variety of fun decor, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, Pikmin Bloom is paying homage to the classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be introduced, celebrating Nintendo’s roots when they were primarily known for their playing card decks before venturing into video games. The design of these cards harks back to Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage in missions and collect unique new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

In May, players can look forward to blooming big flowers such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses by planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

An exciting nectar update will also be introduced, ensuring that fruit from mushrooms during May will provide nectar for regular flowers as well as special ones like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
