Microsoft Will Soon Integrate its Copilot AI Into the Xbox App — and Eventually Into Your Xbox Games

By GraceMar 18,2025

Microsoft is integrating its AI Copilot into the Xbox experience, offering gaming advice, progress tracking, and more. Rolling out soon to Xbox Insiders via the mobile app, Copilot will initially allow users to install games, check play history, achievements, and library, and receive game recommendations. Direct voice interaction within the Xbox app during gameplay will mirror Copilot's Windows functionality.

A key feature is Copilot's role as a gaming assistant, providing answers to game-related questions sourced from various online resources, similar to its current PC functionality. Microsoft is collaborating with game studios to ensure accuracy and proper attribution.

Future possibilities include walkthrough assistance, item tracking, real-time competitive strategy suggestions, and post-engagement analysis. While these are currently exploratory concepts, Microsoft is committed to deep Copilot integration with Xbox gameplay, including partnerships with both first and third-party studios.

During the preview, Xbox Insiders will control Copilot's access and data usage. However, future mandatory implementation remains a possibility. Microsoft will present developer-focused Copilot plans at the Game Developers Conference.
