Lego has unveiled an exciting new range of sets inspired by the upcoming *A Minecraft Movie*, set to hit theaters on April 4, with Jack Black starring as Steve. These sets offer fans a sneak peek into the mobs and scenes that will feature in the film, adding to the anticipation surrounding this live-action adaptation.
Two sets have been announced so far: the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack. Priced at $49.99, the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set, which consists of 491 pieces, hints at a thrilling gladiator-style battle scene. It showcases Jason Momoa's character, The Garbage Man, facing off against a zombie riding a giant chicken, which towers over The Garbage Man by about twice his height. It remains to be seen whether this represents a baby zombie on a regular chicken or if it's to scale. The set also includes figures of Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, along with a fighting ring, a chest full of gold, and a small viewing stand complete with weapons.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, priced at $69.99 with 555 pieces, introduces the Nether's iconic ghast to the film's narrative. This set depicts a significant battle scene in an overworld village, featuring a village minifigure, two piglins, Steve, characters named Natalie and Dawn, and an iron golem. Both sets will be available starting March 1, a month before the movie's release.
The announcement of *A Minecraft Movie* in September stirred immediate reactions from fans, many of whom criticized the blend of live-action characters with a green screen-generated animated world. In response to this, a fan even recreated the trailer in a fully animated style. When addressing the backlash in November, the film's director and producer told IGN they were prepared for all feedback, assuring fans they were ready to meet expectations.
