Intergalactic, new Neil Druckmann game, will be about religion and solitude

The gaming community buzzed with anticipation and curiosity following the announcement of Neil Druckmann's latest project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Recently, Druckmann unveiled the first details about the game's setting during an appearance on the Creator to Creator show.

Set in an alternate future branching off from our timeline in the late '80s, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet introduces a universe where a new religion takes center stage. Naughty Dog has meticulously crafted the lore of this religion, tracing its journey from the emergence of its first prophet to its subsequent evolutions and distortions. This belief system originates and spreads on a solitary planet, which, over time, becomes isolated from the rest of the galaxy.

The narrative follows the protagonist, who crash-lands on this isolated world. Here, she discovers a desolate landscape devoid of other inhabitants. Survival becomes her immediate challenge, and escaping the planet her ultimate goal. This theme of solitude marks a significant departure from Naughty Dog's previous titles, which typically included a companion for the protagonist. In Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, players will navigate the challenges and mysteries of the planet entirely on their own.

Despite four years of development, a release date for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet remains undisclosed. Fans and followers of Naughty Dog's work eagerly await further updates as the project progresses.
