Indus Surpasses Five Million Downloads, Concludes Playtest in Manila

By AllisonDec 12,2024

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has achieved a remarkable feat: surpassing five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within just two months of its launch. This success follows a prestigious Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant milestone positions Indus as a leading contender in the Indian gaming market, challenging established competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback and exposure, with local esports professionals experiencing the game firsthand.

SuperGaming, the developer behind Indus, has further solidified its commitment to the title's growth by launching the Clutch India Movement, a large-scale esports initiative. The centerpiece of this movement is the Indus International Tournament, currently underway and scheduled to conclude in February 2025, offering a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Continued Ambitions

While the five million downloads are impressive, they fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations. However, it's important to remember that pre-registrations don't always translate directly into downloads. The relatively low iOS download count also suggests a need for further penetration in that market segment.

Despite this, SuperGaming's proactive approach, including early international playtests and a significant esports tournament, demonstrates a clear vision for Indus's future. The company's ambitious plans suggest a strong commitment to establishing Indus as a major player in the global gaming arena.
