Portal Games Digital has released a digital adaptation of the popular board game, Imperial Miners, for Android devices. This card game centers around strategic mine construction. The release follows other successful Android ports from Portal Games Digital, including Neuroshima Convoy, Imperial Settlers: Roll & Write, and Tides of Time.
Designed by Tim Armstrong (known for Arcana Rising and Orbis), and illustrated by Hanna Kuik (whose credits include Batman: Everybody Lies and Dune: House Secrets), Imperial Miners challenges players to manage an underground excavation. The goal is to create the most efficient mine by strategically using cards to build a subterranean empire. Players begin on the surface, progressing deeper to collect Crystals and Carts, accumulating Victory Points.
The game's innovative system activates card effects and triggers those above them. Six distinct factions offer diverse strategic combinations. Ten rounds of gameplay, each featuring a unique Event, add an element of unpredictability. Three randomly selected Progress boards from a pool of six further enhance replayability by offering varying strategic options.
