Navigating the expansive and often desolate Synthwave world of the Overgrowth in Hyper Light Breaker can be challenging, but fear not—your trusty Hoverboard is here to transform your journey. From the very start of the game, you have access to this incredible tool, which not only serves as a sprint mechanic but also significantly boosts your movement speed, allowing you to traverse vast distances with minimal energy depletion. Let's dive into how you can effectively use your Hoverboard to enhance your gameplay experience.

How To Summon A Hoverboard In Hyper Light Breaker

Summoning your Hoverboard is as simple as holding down the Dodge input. Your Breaker will dash forward and seamlessly transition onto the Hoverboard, ready to zip across the Overgrowth. To control your direction, just tilt the left analog stick. Remember, turning is more responsive at lower speeds, so adjust your speed accordingly for better maneuverability.

To dismount, release the Dodge input, and the Hoverboard will vanish. Be mindful of your Energy level, displayed next to your Breaker's companion, as running out of Energy will cause an automatic dismount. If your Energy gets low, take a brief pause to let it recharge before continuing your ride.

Hoverboard Movement Tips & Special Uses

While the Hoverboard doesn't support tricks or attacks, it offers unique features that can greatly enhance your exploration. One standout feature is its ability to float on water, allowing you to cross rivers and inlets that you'd otherwise have to bypass. Ensure you're already on your Hoverboard before entering the water, as it cannot be summoned while submerged. No matter how you enter the water, the Hoverboard will quickly resurface, keeping you gliding smoothly.

Another handy use is holding down the Jump input while on the Hoverboard to duck and prepare for a jump. Although you can't double-jump, the increased speed can help you leap across larger gaps. Ducking doesn't boost your speed or jump height, but it's perfect for timing those tricky jumps with precision.
