Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 star Ned Luke fuels anticipation for GTA 6, predicting blockbuster sales and assuring fans the wait will be worthwhile. Discover his insights and predictions regarding the game's development and potential success.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Forecasts $1.3 Billion in Day-One Revenue for GTA 6
Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate a staggering $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a recent interview with Fall Damage on YouTube, Luke shared his excitement, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of Rockstar Games' creations and the guaranteed brilliance of the upcoming title.
Luke reassured fans, stating, "Be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He highlighted GTA 5's impressive $800 million day-one earnings in 2013, confidently asserting that GTA 6 will surpass this achievement significantly. Market research firm DFC Intelligence supports this optimism, projecting over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year, with a billion dollars attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke offered intriguing hints about the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He noted Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, contrasting with the appearances of Trevor and Franklin.
Luke teased a potential Michael appearance in a rumored final GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario involving Trevor's demise in GTA 6 (ScreenRant, January 2025), Luke remained coy, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation remains elusive.
GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York highlighted the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't."
York believes the game is likely in its internal testing phase, adding, "They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras," suggesting a playable build exists and extensive testing is underway.
Following the December 2023 trailer, Rockstar Games has maintained radio silence. While Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report hinted at a Fall 2025 release, no official release date has been confirmed.
