What Energy Crystals Do in R.E.P.O. and How to Get More

By LaylaApr 22,2025

Conquering a level in the cooperative game *R.E.P.O.* is no small feat. Once you and your squad reach the Service Station post-victory, you have the opportunity to purchase various weapons and upgrades, including the coveted Energy Crystals. Let's dive into what Energy Crystals do in *R.E.P.O.* and how you can acquire more of them.

What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?

Energy Crystals are vibrant yellow gems you'll find at the Service Station, available after you complete your first level. These crystals come with a price tag ranging from $7K to $9K. The cost tends to be lower at the start of the game when the difficulty is at its easiest, so if you've managed to navigate through the initial challenges without too much damage from monsters, you should be able to stock up on these crystals right away.

Once you invest in an Energy Crystal, it will spawn an Energy Container/Station inside your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is a game-changer, enabling you to recharge essential tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside. This not only cuts down on the need to buy replacements but also saves your team money in the long run. To recharge an item, place it in the bin next to the container, which is marked by a distinctive yellow lightning bolt. This will get you ready to tackle the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child.

Energy Crystals will automatically appear in the container once purchased, so there's no need to worry about them not being in the truck like some other items. However, they do lose energy with use and have a finite lifespan, eventually breaking and requiring replacement to keep the container operational. Typically, one crystal can refill four battery sections of an item, and six crystals are needed to completely fill the Energy Container.

How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

Energy Crystals can only be bought at the Service Station, and as mentioned, they can be quite expensive. To ensure you have enough cash to purchase these essential items, make sure to loot and scavenge as many valuables as possible during each level. You'll only be sent to the Service Station by the Taxman if you pass a level with sufficient funds.

In particularly challenging locations, it's sometimes wise to aim to finish the level with just enough money to pass, rather than risking everything and losing your valuables.

And that's the scoop on what Energy Crystals do in *R.E.P.O.* and how to get more of them.
