Valve has returned from their New Year holidays, and game developers are once again rolling out exciting updates. Following the news that Deadlock would shift away from its bi-weekly update schedule, the community anticipated a substantial patch. However, Valve opted for a more relaxed start to the year with a surprisingly compact update.
The recent patch focused solely on adjustments to one hero, Yamato, who experienced a slight nerf. This included a decrease in damage scaling and a reduced attack speed bonus at the initial level of Shadow Transformation. Other abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were also weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a minor rework.

With this smaller patch, it's likely that players will need to wait longer for a more comprehensive update. At this stage, pinpointing when that might happen is challenging.
It's important to mention that Deadlock has seen a decline in its player base recently. This drop could be attributed to the current popularity of Marvel Rivals. Nonetheless, for a game still in its deep beta phase, maintaining a consistent player count between 7,000 and 19,000 is a respectable achievement. It's also worth noting that Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or details about the game's monetization model.
