Cartoon Network Withdraws Six Games

Warner Bros. Discovery's sudden removal of multiple Cartoon Network and Adult Swim games has sparked significant backlash from fans. Several titles, including popular choices like Steven Universe: Save the Light and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, have been delisted from digital platforms such as Steam and the Nintendo eShop. The publisher offered little to no explanation for the delistings, leaving players unable to purchase these games legally.

This action is consistent with Warner Bros. Discovery's recent cost-cutting measures, which have included shelving films and removing content from streaming services. A similar delisting event occurred in March 2024, affecting several Adult Swim indie games. While some titles were reinstated following public outcry, others were not, leading to this latest wave of removals.

On December 23rd, 2024, at least six games disappeared from various storefronts. These include:

Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time Steven Universe: Save the Light Steven Universe: Unleash the Light

Each game's storefront listing displays a brief message stating its unavailability after December 23rd, 2024. Interestingly, some Cartoon Network games, like Cartoon Network Journeys VR and Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake, remain available. The soundtrack for OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes is also still for sale.

The oldest game affected, Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest, launched in April 2014. Other titles were released between 2018 and 2021. The removal of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, which features a canonical ending to the show's fifth season, has particularly angered fans. Warner Bros. Discovery, Cartoon Network Games, and Adult Swim Games have yet to provide a reason for these delistings. The lack of warning and explanation has fueled considerable fan frustration.
