Battlefield 6 Cuts MCOM Timers 33% After Rush Mode Feedback

By AndrewNov 02,2025

Battlefield 6 publisher EA is adjusting Rush mode to improve balance between attackers and defenders. These updates coincide with the ongoing Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2, running from August 15 through August 17. The All-Out Warfare playlist features Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush—though the latter has drawn criticism from players. In Rush mode, teams must destroy military communication objectives (MCOMs) either through explosives or bomb placement. However, the 45-second detonation timer for planted bombs created unbalanced gameplay favoring one side. DICE has already addressed this issue. The developer announced on social media: "We've reduced the MCOM detonation timer from 45 to 30 seconds to improve attacker-defender balance." The team confirmed they'll "continue monitoring and make additional adjustments if needed", as other complaints have emerged regarding MCOM spacing and spawn points. Players report problematic spawn trapping on maps like Iberian, Empire, and Siege of Cairo. Some community members suggest more radical changes. One player commented: "Rush should be temporarily disabled until properly reworked. Current map balance is broken, with cramped sectors and chaotic 12v12 gameplay—a far cry from Rush's former glory." This criticism has garnered over 3,000 likes. EA recently addressed cheating concerns in an official statement, emphasizing their anti-cheat measures including mandatory Secure Boot activation. The publisher revealed their systems blocked 330,000 cheat attempts, while players reported 104,000 cheating incidents within two days. EA vows to enhance anti-cheat efforts and encourages player reports. For Open Beta details, visit our BF6 Beta Guide covering access, schedules, and maps.
