Rebel Wolves and Bandai Sign Partnership for “Dawnwalker” Saga
More Dawnwalker Reveals Expected In The Coming Months
Rebel Wolves, the Polish studio founded by The Witcher 3's game and art directors, has entered into a significant partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring. This exciting collaboration was announced at the beginning of the week, marking Bandai Namco as the global publisher for Rebel Wolves' eagerly anticipated debut title, "Dawnwalker." This action RPG saga is set to launch in 2025 and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox.
"Dawnwalker" promises to be a story-driven AAA action-RPG set in a medieval European backdrop, infused with dark fantasy elements tailored for mature audiences. Fans can look forward to more detailed reveals from Rebel Wolves in the coming months. Founded in 2022 in Warsaw, Poland, the studio is committed to elevating the RPG genre with its narrative-focused approach to game development.
"Rebel Wolves is a new studio built upon solid foundations: a combination of experience and fresh energy. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, known for its dedication to the role-playing genre and its willingness to engage with new IPs, is a perfect match for our wolfpack," said Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, in a press release. "Not only does it share our values, but its track record in publishing narrative-driven RPGs speaks for itself. We're excited to collaborate with them to bring the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to gamers worldwide."
Bandai Namco views "Dawnwalker" as a valuable addition to its game portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, the company's business development VP, commented, "This is another key milestone in our content development strategy for the Western market. By combining our strengths, we will deliver this first game of the studio to a worldwide audience."
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran who served as the lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, joined Rebel Wolves earlier this year and now leads the studio as creative director. "Dawnwalker" is confirmed to be the foundation of a new franchise, as stated by Rebel Wolves' co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, who previously worked as a writer at CDPR for over nine years. The game's scope is expected to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, offering a more non-linear narrative.
"We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed. Helping craft this experience with so many talented people will be my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been up to for quite a while now," Tomaszkiewicz shared earlier in the year.
