Another mobile game has announced its end-of-service (EOS), and this time it's Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have confirmed that the global version of their RPG will soon be shutting down. Launched globally in January 2024, the game has struggled to maintain its player base, leading to this unfortunate decision.
It's worth noting that the Japanese version of Atelier Resleriana continues to thrive. Launched in September 2023, it's preparing to celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025. This stark contrast highlights the irony of the global version's impending closure.
When Is the Atelier Resleriana EOS?
The global version of Atelier Resleriana is set to shut down on March 28th, 2025, coinciding with the Japanese version's 1.5th anniversary celebration. While Japanese players advance to Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1).
The in-game purchase system has already been disabled, but players can still utilize their Lodestar Gems until the game's closure. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events up until the shutdown date.
Adding to the irony, the global version recently celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th, 2025. A bittersweet milestone, indeed.
Why Is It Shutting Down?
The developers have cited an inability to maintain satisfactory service standards as the reason for the EOS. Feedback from players, especially regarding the gacha system, has been critical. Despite having appealing main characters, the gameplay and monetization model, coupled with significant power creep, failed to retain players.
These factors culminated in the decision to end the global version of Atelier Resleriana. If you wish to bid farewell to the game, you can find it on the Google Play Store.
