Nightmare Crownless is a thrilling new Nightmare version of the Overlord-class Echoes in Wuthering Waves. This powerful variant not only boosts Havoc DMG but also enhances Basic Attack DMG, making it an ideal choice for specific characters looking to maximize their potential.
Similar to other Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves, you can farm Nightmare Crownless from its designated overworld spawn point. However, to engage with this formidable spear-wielding Echo, you must first conquer the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and follow up with an additional step. Let's dive into the steps needed to unlock Nightmare Crownless.
Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest in Wuthering Waves isn't your run-of-the-mill quest. Instead of being triggered by an NPC or an interactable object, you'll find it listed in the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. To access this, open your map and click the compass icon located on the upper-left side, adjacent to your current location's name.
This quest is intricately linked with the optional Quest of Faith, which requires you to defeat four enemies in designated areas within the Penitent's End region. Start your journey by heading to the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge at Wailing Ascent. Here, you'll find a prompt near the circular arena next to the beacon. Interacting with it will initiate a battle against a Questless Knight, reminiscent of those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.
To vanquish these knights, you'll need to strategically position them near a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. These torches can be reignited by luring Fae Ignis enemies into attacking them. Exercise caution and avoid using powerful skills near the torches to prevent extinguishing them inadvertently.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
Upon successfully completing both the Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, your next objective is to locate all four Dream Patrols scattered throughout Penitent's End. While completing these challenges isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, doing so will grant you additional resources and Monnaie in Wuthering Waves. Refer to the image above for the precise locations of these Dream Patrols. Once you've found all four, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map, specifically within the ruins north of Penitent's End.
It's crucial to remember that Nightmare Echoes require Enhanced Absorption charges, which notably enhance the Echo drop rate. You're allotted 15 of these charges weekly, so it's wise to manage them carefully if you're planning to develop multiple characters.
