Wuthering Waves Nightmare Echoes: A Comprehensive Guide
Nightmare Echoes are enhanced versions of standard Echoes in Wuthering Waves, significantly impacting Resonator usage. Superior to their regular counterparts, acquiring a Nightmare Echo is crucial for maximizing character potential. This guide details their acquisition.
What are Nightmare Echoes?
Nightmare Echoes are alternative variants of 4-cost (Overlord-class) Echoes. They feature unique active skills and offer a percentage-based elemental damage boost, inherently surpassing standard Echoes in value. This passive elemental damage bonus allows them to replace a 3-cost Echo, enabling a potent 441111 Echo composition. Importantly, they retain the Sonata/Set effects of their regular counterparts, minimizing build adjustments.
How to Unlock Nightmare Echoes
Unlocking Nightmare Echoes requires completing the "Dream Patrol I" quest in Rinascita. This tutorial quest is initiated by interacting with the White Cat in Ragunna City after finishing Act 2 Chapter 3 of the Rinascita main storyline.
"Dream Patrol I" introduces Dream Patrols, overworld activities in Rinascita. Completion reveals Nightmare Echo locations on your map:
Nightmare Echo | Location |
---|---|
Feilian Beringal | Requiem Ravine |
Thundering Mephis | Mistveil Bay |
Tempest Mephis | Shores of Last Breath |
Impermanence Heron | Twin Peaks |
Inferno Rider | Averardo Vault - West |
Mourning Aix | Averardo Vault - South |
Crownless | Penitent's End |
Defeated Nightmare Echoes appear in the Echo Hunting section of your Guidebook. However, Nightmare Tempest Mephis and Nightmare Crownless require completing specific Exploration Quests:
-
Nightmare Tempest Mephis: "Where Wind Returns to Celestial Realms" – Initiate this quest by interacting with a Lumiscale Construct south of Shores of Last Breath, within the northern ruins.
-
Nightmare Crownless: "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" – Access this quest via the Exploration Progress menu (Compass icon in the upper-left corner of your map screen) under Penitent's End.
Successfully defeating these formidable foes will add their respective Nightmare Echoes to your collection, significantly enhancing your team's capabilities.
