Gaijin Entertainment has revealed exciting news: War Thunder's Firebirds update, featuring a fleet of new aircraft, arrives in early November. This substantial update boasts a range of iconic military aviation additions.
New Aircraft in War Thunder
Among the new additions are the legendary American F-117 stealth attack aircraft, Russia's Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the formidable F-15E Strike Eagle, to name a few. The update also includes new ground vehicles and warships, such as the British FV107 Scimitar light tank and the French Dunkerque battleship.
Let's examine some key additions: The F-117A Nighthawk marks War Thunder's first stealth aircraft. Its unique design and materials—incorporating hard edges, sharp angles, radar-absorbing materials, ferromagnetic paint, and shielded engines—enable it to evade radar and infrared detection. Its real-world performance during Operation Desert Storm, completing over 1,200 combat sorties without loss, speaks volumes.
The F-15E Strike Eagle represents raw power. This enhanced F-15 variant boasts a 50% larger payload capacity and a ground target detection radar. Its arsenal includes AGM-65 Maverick missiles, laser-guided bombs, JDAM navigation-guided bombs, and even GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (twenty at a time). Its inclusion underscores its pivotal role in the U.S. Air Force.
More Than Just Aircraft: Expanding War Thunder's Arsenal
Beyond the aircraft, the Firebirds update expands War Thunder's offerings with ground and naval reinforcements. These include the agile British FV107 Scimitar tank and the French Dunkerque battleship.
The Aces High season is also underway, providing opportunities to unlock unique vehicles and earn various rewards by completing the season and Battle Pass. Rewards include aircraft such as the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, powerful platoons like the T54E2 and G6, and ships such as the HMS Orion and USS Billfish.
