Relic Entertainment, the studio behind Company of Heroes, is launching a new, streamlined turn-based strategy game: Earth vs. Mars. This PC title (Steam release) arrives this Summer and pits players against a Martian invasion. The core mechanic involves creating unique creature-human hybrids using the Splice-O-Tron, resulting in unusual units like the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly. Gameplay draws inspiration from the classic Advance Wars series for Nintendo DS.
Relic describes the scenario: "For years, Martians have secretly infiltrated Earth, abducting humans and animals to extract their atomic energy. Now, a full-scale invasion is underway, and a diverse group of commanders must lead Earth's resistance. Players will command Earth's forces against advanced Martian weaponry, including saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien soldiers, in a desperate fight for survival."

Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell commented, “We’re thrilled to put a Relic spin on the Advance Wars formula, incorporating our signature style while drawing inspiration from past titles.” He further explained Relic's new strategy: "Alongside our established RTS games, we're developing smaller, indie-style projects to explore new genres, experiment creatively, and increase our release frequency.” Add it to your Steam wishlist today!
