Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Launches October 2025

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been delayed once more, shifting its launch to October 2025.

This latest postponement is relatively minor compared to earlier reschedulings, as highlighted in a recent update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While the new date extends a few months beyond the previously announced window for the first half of the year, the team assures that development is officially complete.

“At this stage, the game is finished,” explained Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We're now focusing on bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance optimization to ensure players enjoy the best possible experience at launch.”

While another delay is disappointing for longtime fans, the accompanying video includes encouraging updates. The Chinese Room has expanded content, narrative depth, and character development since the last preview. Players can also anticipate an evolved role for the character Fabien in the story. However, despite regular developer diaries keeping the community informed, the official X/Twitter page recently noted that future updates will become less frequent.

Even casual observers are likely aware that this narrative-driven vampire RPG has faced numerous challenges over the past decade. The game was initially announced back in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, targeting a Q1 2020 release. It was postponed later that year, with a new launch set for late 2020. While delays are common in large-scale game development, this was only the beginning of a prolonged series of setbacks.

A subsequent delay pushed the launch to 2021, and in March 2021, Hardsuit Labs experienced further postponements and staff layoffs. After a lengthy and troubled development cycle, 2023 brought the announcement that Still Wakes the Deep developer The Chinese Room would take over, targeting a 2024 release. Following one more schedule adjustment, the game is finally expected to launch this October.

Given the turbulent history, it remains to be seen whether this sequel to the 2004 cult classic will captivate players this fall, though The Chinese Room currently appears confident. Additionally, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 succeed, development of Bloodlines 3 will likely be handled by another team in the future.
