Unlocking High Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds: A Comprehensive Guide
Ready to conquer High Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds? This guide will walk you through the process. For veteran hunters, High Rank is the heart of the Monster Hunter experience (at least until Master Rank arrives!).
Unlocking High Rank
To unlock High Rank, you must complete the main storyline. Spoiler alert: The final story mission involves venturing to the Dragontorch and defeating the resident monster. After the ensuing cutscenes, the game will automatically transition to High Rank.
What is High Rank?
High Rank is where the true Monster Hunter challenge begins. Expect significantly tougher monsters with increased health, damage, and a shorter fuse. This difficulty jump is accompanied by new weapon tiers, a fresh batch of armor, and a whole new level of grinding that many consider the core gameplay loop.
High Rank also introduces dynamic environmental changes to Monster Hunter Wilds. Each region's two environmental states (previously experienced sequentially during the story) now cycle regularly, creating diverse hunting grounds. Think dust storms sweeping across the plains, and a full day-night cycle. This added variability, along with new monsters and variations of existing ones, significantly enhances the High Rank experience.
