Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the hidden true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay completed stages.
Look for a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban" in the stage selection menu. This signifies an alternate path to the true ending. In the standard scenario, you protect Liu Bei's escape while Zhang Fei defends Changban Bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly.
This is a challenging task, requiring you to single-handedly overcome Cao Cao's overwhelming forces. To increase your chances of success:
- Reduce Difficulty: Set the game's difficulty to "Historian" mode. This makes the battle more manageable, given the limited time and resources.
- Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. Starting closer to Cao Cao's forces saves valuable time.
Prepare for Cao Cao's Grand Tactics – one requiring two officer defeats, the other demanding 250 soldier eliminations. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for efficient soldier clearing. Once Cao Cao's army is significantly weakened, focus on defeating Cao Cao himself. After this pivotal victory, only a few additional missions remain before unlocking the Shu true ending.
