Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, appears to be plagued by a series of unfortunate leaks. The first gameplay leaks emerged as early as 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase began. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, following what seems to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more Project U videos might surface if the game continues to be developed. Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage hints at a storyline centered around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals fighting this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official statement regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
