Ubisoft to Showcase

Get ready for a closer look at Assassin's Creed Shadows! Ubisoft will host a livestream showcasing the game's captivating world and thrilling gameplay. Viewers will witness protagonists Naoe and Yasuke embarking on quests, exploring the vibrant Harima Province, and confronting formidable adversaries. The developers will also participate in a Q&A session, offering insights into their creative process and vision for this latest installment.

Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows plunges players into a world of political intrigue and samurai conflict. Originally slated for a March 20, 2025 release, the game has been pushed back. However, reputable insider Tom Henderson sheds light on the delay, attributing it to the need for addressing historical and cultural inaccuracies, alongside general polishing. While rumors of Yasuke's character being removed circulated, Henderson clarifies that while his narrative arc will undergo adjustments, he will remain a key figure in the game.

The delay stems from a confluence of factors, including the late integration of historical consultants and internal communication challenges within the development team. From a technical standpoint, the game requires further refinement, encompassing bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. While bug fixes are progressing smoothly, gameplay alterations are expected to take more time. Despite the delay, Henderson's sources express confidence in a Valentine's Day release, February 14th, believing the development team has sufficient time to finalize the game.
