During the ID@Xbox Showcase event, fans were treated to an exciting premiere of a new trailer for Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, the highly anticipated sequel to the original game. It was also announced that Moonlighter 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, with a launch expected before the year's end.
Developed by Digital Sun and published by 11 bit studios, Moonlighter 2 is an isometric action-adventure RPG that incorporates roguelike elements. Players take on the role of a shopkeeper striving to transform their small store into a thriving business. This involves daring expeditions into dungeons to collect rare artifacts and confront formidable foes.
Digital Sun has promised that Moonlighter 2 builds upon the original game's core, offering richer narratives and improved gameplay mechanics. The sequel follows the protagonist, Will, on his quest to find his way back to his home dimension within the vast world of Trense. Throughout his journey, Will reconnects with familiar faces and forges new alliances. A mysterious trader enlists Will's help in locating powerful relics that are rumored to hold the key to his return home.
The game's soundtrack is composed by the renowned Chris Larkin, celebrated for his work on Hollow Knight. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is set to launch later this year on PC (via Steam), Xbox Series, and PS5, promising an immersive experience for both new players and fans of the original game.
