Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant overhaul and exciting new features. This season introduces the Cloud Oasis, a novel area with unique economic gameplay mechanics, where players will engage in trading resources, assigning workers, and managing production lines to build their aerial empire.
Returning with a twist this season is Thea, who now features the Blasphemer trait. This new trait replaces her divine powers with the curse of Desecration, which starts off weak but scales powerfully. It increases Erosion damage inversely proportional to her remaining blessing power, offering new build possibilities focused on area-of-effect explosions and HP-scaling effects, perfect for enthusiasts of damage-over-time and synergy-rich setups.
Endgame content sees major updates as well, with Deep Space being completely reworked. It now includes five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can customize their risk and reward balance using the new Probes system, which increases the difficulty but also the potential for better loot, including Compass chests.
The update also introduces the Blending System for belt crafting, which allows for the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, enhancing build customization. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
Coinciding with the season launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
