Ticket to Ride Launches Japan Expansion Letting You Build the Bullet Train Network!

Embark on a digital journey through Japan with the latest expansion for Ticket to Ride, brought to you by Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment. The Japan Expansion introduces a fresh twist to the beloved board game, now available on digital platforms.

Help Build the Train Network

For the first time, the Japan map from the physical game is now accessible on digital platforms, but with a unique twist. Unlike the traditional game where you focus solely on building your own train empire, the Japan Expansion encourages players to contribute to a national Bullet Train network that benefits everyone. This cooperative element adds a new layer of strategy, where you can choose to help build the network or let others do the heavy lifting while you accumulate points.

Be warned, though—the game features a karma system. Neglecting your Bullet Train duties can cost you 20 points at the end of the game. So, while you might be tempted to be sneaky, a bit of teamwork is necessary to avoid losing points.

The expansion also introduces two new characters: Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger who loves exploring Japan's festival circuit with her dog, and Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji (sumo referee), adding a rich layer of local culture and personality to the game.

Ticket to Ride Has Upgraded Trains with the Japan Expansion

Enhance your collection with the Japan Expansion's new additions: two trains and two carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train and the Tsuki Sleeper carriage are perfect for those seeking a more relaxed travel experience. On the other hand, the Isogaba Maware train and the Hayai carriage offer speed and efficiency for players on the go.

With spring in the air, the Japan map is set to provide an enchanting seasonal experience. The Japan Expansion is available for download now, offering a refreshing change to your Ticket to Ride gameplay. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
