Themis Unveils Dunes Ballad Event, New MR Cards Added

HoYoverse has unveiled an exciting new update for *Tears of Themis* titled the "Ballad of the Dunes." This update marks a special collaboration with the Culture & Tourism of Gansu Province, blending the thrilling world of detective work with the captivating heritage of Dunhuang, a city nestled on the edge of the Gobi Desert. This crossover event brings together history, romance, and mystery, all set against the timeless backdrop of the ancient Silk Road.

What Does Ballad of the Dunes Bring to Tears of Themis?

The "Ballad of the Dunes" event transports players into a world where they can solve mysteries amidst the enchanting atmosphere of Dunhuang's ancient culture. This update introduces four new MR cards, each featuring one of the beloved characters—Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius—dressed in themes inspired by Dunhuang's rich cultural elements. These include depictions of flying apsaras, detailed murals, and the unique pipa played behind the back, reminiscent of the ancient performers found in the Mogao Caves.

The Silk Road, a historical conduit for art, culture, and trade since the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD), comes to life digitally through these cards. Each card not only showcases a unique aspect of Dunhuang's heritage but also tells its own story through Private Messages, exploring a journey that spans a thousand years. The cards are named "In the Footsteps of Silk" for Luke, "Serenade of the Soul" for Artem, "Reverberation Through Time" for Vyn, and "Void of Creation" for Marius.

What Are the Rewards?

From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can participate in event-specific tasks to earn rewards such as Camel Bells, S-Chips, and various other in-game goodies. The primary challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to reveal these rewards. The highlight of the event is the opportunity to obtain the "Ballad of the Dunes" MR card pack, allowing players to select one of the four new MR cards as a reward for each round they complete. By flipping a total of 100 cells, players can also earn the exclusive "Celebration – Dunes" Namecard.
