Battlestate Games has unleashed a massive update for Escape from Tarkov, version 0.16.0.0. While final technical implementation is ongoing, a comprehensive changelog detailing new features and bug fixes has been released, accompanied by a new trailer.

Key Highlights:

• Khorovod Event: This new event introduces special tasks and rewards, culminating in a unique "Khorovod" mode. Players must light and defend a Christmas tree across six different locations.

• Prestige System: A new Prestige system, reminiscent of Call of Duty, allows players to reset their character after reaching level 55. By completing specific quests and accumulating resources, players can retain some equipment and earn prestige-exclusive rewards, including achievements, cosmetics, and additional tasks. Currently, only two prestige levels are available, with eight more planned.

• Engine Upgrade: The game has transitioned to the Unity 2022 engine.

• Frostbite Status Effect: A new cold-related status effect, "Frostbite," reduces vision and stamina. Players can mitigate its effects using alcohol, warm environments, and shelters.
