The beloved RPG adventure management game, *The Tale of Food*, featuring charmingly personified food characters, is set to conclude its journey. Initially launched for a closed beta in China in September 2019 and later distributed by Tencent Games, the game has now reached its final chapter. Here's everything you need to know about the impending shutdown of *The Tale of Food*.
When Is the The Tale of Food Shutdown?
The game, which allowed players to command an army of handsome, personified dishes, will officially shut down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). As of today, February 18th, in-game purchases have been disabled. New player registrations have also been halted, and the game has been removed from the Google Play Store. However, if you have already downloaded the game, you can continue playing until the servers close on March 20th.
What About the Jewels Collected in the Game?
If you purchased any jewels between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, you are eligible for a refund. You can request a refund by contacting in-game support or emailing the developers before March 20th. For more details on the terms and conditions of the shutdown, visit the official X (formerly Twitter) account of *The Tale of Food*.
It's worth noting that the game's Japan server shut down in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. Now, the global version is the next to go offline.
As your time managing a realm filled with dumplings and suave seafood as the Food God's kid comes to an end, remember that the official X, Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active. These platforms will serve as a space for players to reminisce and share their cherished memories of the game.
