By AaronJan 21,2025

Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's showcase was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise releases. This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but, and that's great news for us! We've got news, a look at today's eShop additions, and our daily sales updates. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Treasure Trove of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved clever, delivering a wave of announcements. Highlights include surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new entries in the Atelier and Rune Factory series, and much more. I highly recommend watching the full video for a complete picture. There's something for everyone!

New Releases Spotlight

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A fantastic surprise from the Direct! This third Castlevania compilation brings together the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notoriously difficult arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside a much-improved M2 remake. This collection offers superb emulation and features, making it an incredible value.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is another Direct surprise. Race through five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will love this, but even those without a strong Wario connection will find it a compelling platformer. We hope to review it soon!

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

More Wednesday surprises! Goat Simulator 3 brings the chaotic goat antics you know and love. While performance on Switch might vary (given issues on more powerful systems), the inherent silliness of the game might make any performance hiccups part of the charm. It's open-world goat mayhem – you decide if that's worth the risk!

Peglin ($19.99)

EA's absence of PopCap games on Switch feels like a missed opportunity. For those missing Peggle, Peglin is an excellent alternative. This mobile hit now graces the Switch, blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based roguelite RPG elements. A review is coming soon.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's shop sim formula gets a Doraemon twist! This game features characters from the beloved manga and anime, offering a charming take on the familiar shop simulation gameplay. Fans of the series will appreciate the effort put into the licensed characters and appearances from the artist's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park fun for existing fans! Up to eight players can enjoy local or online multiplayer in this cooperative puzzle game. The "more the merrier" philosophy applies here, but it's not drastically different from the original.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

A budget-friendly rhythm game featuring music from Kamitsubaki Studio. Simple yet enjoyable for its price point.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban-style puzzler with a penguin twist. One hundred levels of crate-pushing challenge.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilize character abilities and drawing mechanics to solve problems. Supports up to four players locally or online.
