"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8 as the concluding major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Despite its initial release in February 2024 to predominantly negative feedback, the developer announced less than a year later that support for the game would cease on January 14. This final patch is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had a promising premise that aimed to captivate superhero enthusiasts, its unexpected shift to a live-service model is widely considered the catalyst for its quick decline. Just 10 months after its launch, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the game's last hurrah. The studio assured fans that all online functionalities would continue to operate, enabling players to enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with friends.

Following a brief server maintenance period, Rocksteady has now launched the final content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers back online, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a range of formidable Notorious weapons, and a new Mayhem mission culminating in the ultimate showdown with Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels and more.

Post-Season 4 Episode 8, the game's servers will stay operational, and thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7 in December, players can also enjoy the game's content, including main campaign and seasonal story missions, without an internet connection. Although Rocksteady has not announced plans to shut down the servers completely, the offline mode ensures that fans can continue playing even if the servers go offline.

For those who missed out on experiencing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during its brief run, the game has been added to PlayStation Plus. Subscribers can claim this live-service title alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered until February 3.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

In Episode 8: Balance, delve deeper into the medieval Elseworld, encountering both familiar and new locales. Your journey takes you to The Quarry, a fortified citadel that you must conquer to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a setting for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke the era's chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a formidable DC Super-Villain fixated on balance. His Infamy Set inflicts stacks of Scales of Libra on enemies, amplifying both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. This set promotes a high-risk, high-reward strategy, fostering a bold and dynamic playstyle.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons offer a 200% damage bonus against enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode delivers 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone at the point of impact, reducing enemy damage output by 100% within the zone—ideal for crowd control while your squad unleashes devastating attacks.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets pierce through enemies, apply Scales of Libra, and may electrify them, making it perfect for rapidly eliminating foes. Positioning is key to maximizing this weapon's potential to devastate entire groups.

Chronos’ Equilibrium enhances the glass cannon playstyle, boosting damage by 25% for every 1% of missing Shield, encouraging players to stay in the thick of the action for maximum impact.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Adjusted the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to align with other characters.
  • Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels, with retroactive rewards for previously earned XP. Players may see an increase in Squad Levels and additional Squad Points to spend post-update.
