Suicide Squad: Justice League Dismissals

Rocksteady Studios, renowned for the Batman: Arkham series, has experienced further layoffs following the disappointing performance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game's underperformance, reported in February, initially resulted in a 50% reduction of the QA team in September. This latest round of job cuts, reported by Eurogamer, affects programmers and artists, occurring shortly before the game's final update. Several anonymous employees confirmed their dismissals, highlighting the impact on various departments. Warner Bros. remains silent on these recent and previous layoffs.

The financial repercussions of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's underperformance extend beyond Rocksteady. WB Games Montreal, developer of Gotham Knights, also reported layoffs in December, many reportedly from the QA team supporting Suicide Squad's post-launch content. The final DLC, featuring Deathstroke, launched December 10th. With one last update planned for later this month, Rocksteady's future projects remain uncertain. The game's failure casts a shadow on the studio's otherwise impressive track record of critically acclaimed DC titles.
