Stellar Blade Sequel Announced by Shift Up

By OliviaSep 18,2025

Shift Up has officially announced a full sequel to Stellar Blade.

The PlayStation-exclusive action title, released in April 2024, earned praise for blending gameplay elements reminiscent of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The South Korean studio Shift Up revealed plans for a Stellar Blade sequel through a chart outlining its future projects, included in today’s financial results.

Ahead of the sequel, Shift Up noted a “platform expansion” for Stellar Blade, likely referring to the PC version slated for release on June 11, 2025.

Within the same timeframe, Shift Up will launch Project Witches, a new multiplatform action RPG that remains under wraps.

Earlier this week, Shift Up addressed a PC region lock issue with Sony, which restricted the game’s Steam store page in over 100 countries, stating discussions are ongoing.

“Stellar Blade delivers a visually stunning and meticulously designed action experience with notable strengths and distinct flaws,” IGN noted in its review.

“Its narrative and characters feel shallow, and some RPG mechanics, like repetitive sidequests, often require backtracking through familiar areas with little novelty or reward.

“Yet, its combat system, inspired by Sekiro, shines with robust mechanics, a variety of grotesque enemies to battle, and rewarding exploration driven by well-placed collectibles.”
